Artist
Geeta Pattanaik, NWS
Watercolor and oil paintings
Geeta paints with watercolors and oil paints and her favorite subjects are nature, still life and architecture. She is fascinated by the subtle changes in light and how they affect the subject. The challenge is to transfer this on to her paper or canvas.
She has selected a few of her recent paintings and some of her favorites to highlight here. It does not include her entire body of work.
She has drawn and painted since she was a child in India, using pencils, oils and watercolors. Over the years she has taken lessons in watercolor, oils, and holds certificates in Watercolor and Oil Painting, Commercial Art and later in Graphic Design on the Mac. The Press Enterprise published an Artist Spotlight on Geeta on July 6, 2012. Please click here to read the article.
Even while pursuing a career in librarianship, she has nurtured her love of painting. Since 2003, she has been painting intensively in watercolors.
Geeta is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society and an Associate Member of the American Watercolor Society and the California Art Club. She is a Sustaining Member of Watercolor West and a member of the Riverside Art Museum and The Arts Colony of Corona.
